Dr. Bidisha Mohanty is a highly accomplished, skilled, and dedicated practitioner of Odissi Classical dance. She has been instrumental in promoting this dance form across various places in the USA, and across different communities of India in the USA, be it from West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, etc. She has been playing a key role in preserving its rich cultural heritage.

Our Creative Directors and Assistant Instructors

Shreyaa Karan and Shylaa Karan (the daughters of Guru Dr. Bidisha Mohanty), have been learning under her able tutelage since the age of 4.
 

Shreyaa Karan has completed her Odissi Mancha Prabesh (Solo Recital) in 2022 and Odissi Visharad Final (Bachelor's Degree) in 2023. She is a member and the first Odissi dancer of Purdue Aharya, Purdue's competitive Indian Classical Dance team.


Shylaa Karan is set to complete her Odissi Visharad Final (Bachelor's Degree) and Odissi Mancha Prabesh in 2024.
